This is where
summer begins

Think of evenings when the kids go to bed a little too late. When the adults lose track of time too. When a quick trip down to the harbour turns into hours, and it’s still light long after the sun has set.

MIDSUMMER

Hvide Sande
23 June

Experience the kind of summer evening the whole family will remember long after the bonfire has burned out.

No one really wants to be the first to head home . . . .

On Holmsland Klit, we head into summer together: Some meet up to run along the water. Others come for the music, the draft beers, and the atmosphere at the harbour, by the sea, and among the people.
It’s also the time of year when the Sankt Hans bonfire lights something in people that’s hard to put into words.

Because midsummer on the West Coast isn’t just about what’s on the programme. It’s just as much about everything around it. When the sun lingers on the horizon, it’s hard not to linger too.

Midsummer on the West Coast was created through a collaboration between Holmsland Klit Tourist Association, Søndervig Centre Association, hvidesande.by and Destination Vesterhavet, with the aim of highlighting and supporting the potential of Holmsland Klit during the beautiful, bright days of June.

Midsummer on the West Coast includes a range of different and diverse events that share a common feeling, atmosphere and direction. At the same time, the midsummer concept offers a flexibility that makes it ideal to develop and expand over time.

Midsummer on the West Coast can include nature, experiences, gastronomy, culture, movement, health and togetherness, and overall it is a celebration and a way of marking that “This is where summer begins.”
